** Beach and Portrait Ideas **
**Keep skin tones natural a little powder to help with shiny summer faces is always
good and try and to limit exposure to the sun a few days before the big event.
Ladies: Eye shadow should be applied lightly and with care; the center point of interest in a fine portrait
is the eyes. Apply two coats of mascara - on both upper and lower lashes. Wear your other make-up as usual.
Also bring your make-up with you, in case any "touch-ups" are required.
**While men don't need make-up, do keep in mind that an evening Portrait will benefit
greatly from a fresh shave! And sometimes a little powder in the shiny areas won't hurt, even on shaved heads!?
**Feel free to bring a few personal items to express the real you and to help keep
small children "entertained".
**Wear solid colors or simple patterns that won't overwhelm the beauty of the Beach
or another background. Medium to dark colors help to create a time less look while
soft shades for beach portraits, works best. We suggest that you wear matching or coordinating outfits.
The best clothing choices are white shirts/khaki shorts or pants, pastel colors, and neutral tones.
What not to wear: bold, bright colors, stripes or plaids – also mini skirts - they can make posing very challenging.
**For Children, clothing that fits your child's style so he or she will be happy, comfortable, and and
better behaved child.
**Stay away from shirts with sayings on them; cropping can cut words in two and lead to a confused picture look.
**Footwear is optional for Beach pictures even weddings! However just a reminder that the sand can be very
hot during certain times of the year and especially on tender little ones feet.
**We suggest that children have naps since the sessions are in the late afternoon, and
a quick snack to tide your family over is also a good idea.
**Rest rooms are limited and best to "go" before you show up for your session!

Other Wedding Ideas!
**Instead of an arch that may blow over due to the wind/breeze on the
beach make a pathway with pinwheels, Tiki torches with flowers,
shells or bows attached (the flames usually blow out) large conch
shells or starfish on both sides of the walkway.
*Don’t throw rice at the bride and groom…. Use bubbles on the beach,
or throw beach balls over their heads, how about using inexpensive
sand buckets with unbuttered, unsalted popcorn to throw. (It looks
much better in the pictures) ---------Be Creative!---------
**You may want to think about NOT using a veil?? The constant breeze
sometimes makes a veil very uncontrollable. (I usually ask the maid
of honor to tuck the veil into the back of the Bride’s dress if the veil
starts flying in the Bride's face etc….)
**Bridal bouquets and flowers, especially in the middle of the hot summer are better off being
silks instead of fresh florals. The heat tends to make fresh flowers wilt faster so it's a chance
you may want to take as to how the flowers will look after an hour in 100+ degree heat index!!??
**Plastic runner doesn't do very well on the Beach. You need to weigh it down with sand or
shells or bring some type of clips to push down into the sand so the breeze from the Ocean
doesn't blow the runner away.
**Those "Just Married" beach Flip Flops are really cute but, don't be surprised if you can't get
them to work very well in the sand! The imprints don't show up at all in the hard packed or wet sand
and are barely noticeable in the soft sand. The sand needs to be completely smooth for the imprints
to work best. Just to let you know.
